Objective(s): This participatory action research project has three main parts: the making of a video about family literacy, getting community feedback on the video, and recording the steps of the video-making process. The main goal is to create a video featuring local people telling their stories and expressing their views about how education and learning are an important part of their families. Participants will be drawn from Inuvik. The feedback process brings the video into the community and invites the community to respond through focus groups. Documenting the actual video-making process will be useful for other groups who may be inspired to use this as a model to create their own community-based video. This project is a part of the researcher's studies towards a Masters in Adult Education at Saint Francis Xavier University.
