Objective(s): to recover and redeploy on the sea floor of the Beaufort Sea sonar instruments to measure the motion, thickness and ridging of sea ice as it drifts overhead throughout the year; to repeat a survey of seawater temperature and salinity properties in the Beaufort Sea in late winter (for the ninth year) and to study their relation to ice thickness, drift and growth conditions during the preceding 6 months;

Project Description: The Researchers will continue to study sea ice in the Beaufort Sea. They will recover and redeploy sonar instruments to measure the motion, thickness and ridging of sea ice as it drifts overhead throughout the year. They will also repeat a survey to seawater temperature and salinity.
