Project Team: I. McKendry; T. Randall;

Objective(s): To determine the magnitude and nature of frost heave in lake-bottom sediments during seasonal freezing; to document the near-surface ice content of permafrost at various sites in the Mackenzie Delta; to determine conditions causing shoals in Mackenzie Delta lakes;

Project Description: The Researcher and his team will continue to examine the hydrology of frost heave in the environment of a lake bottom. They will also conduct their study in land environments in the outer Delta and examine the distribution of ice in the upper layers of permafrost.
