Objectif(s): To measure regional and site variability in maximum active layer and vertical surface movement over permafrost; to monitor sites over decades to observe temporal trends, perhaps resulting from climatic change.

Description du projet: In this on-going study, measurements such as maximum depth of thaw and soil surface movements (from last season) will be taken. Equipment will then be reset for the coming year. Field sites in the Mackenzie Delta between Arctic Red River and Tuktoyaktuk will be visited during June. During July, we will travel between Fort Simpson and San Sault Rapids.
