Objectif(s): To continue to collect information to better understand the origin of permafrost, the ice within the permafrost and the processes that help create the present geocryologic environment.
Description du projet: Since 1951 the researcher has conducted field studies on permafrost along the Western Arctic Coast. The basic purpose is to better understand the origin of permafrost, the ice within the permafrost and the processes that help create it. Specific studies include pingos and ice wedges.
