Objective(s): To complete in 1995 and 1996 long term studies on the origin of permafrost, the ice found within permafrost and processes that help to create the present geocryologic environment.

Project Description: This permafrost study has been part of a long-term study first initiated in 1951. The researcher will collect data that will allow a better understanding of the growth of the ice wedges, pingos and permafrost.
