Objectif(s): To continue to study the evolution of plants in very high latitudes; to continue to assemble an extensive collection of fossil plants from northern Canada;

Description du projet: Begun in 1985, this project will continue the study of plant evolution in high latitudes and the exploration for fossils in rocks of the Eureka Sound Group of Axel Heiberg and Ellesmere Islands. This season the field work will expand to Strathcona Fiord area and to east central Axel Heiberg Island. This information is used in the interpretation of global climatic change and the evolution of temperate ecosystems.
