Objectif(s): To continue work begun in 1987; to install tubes to monitor solifluction processes in the three study areas of Black Top Creek, "Big Slide Creek" and Hot Weather Creek; to inventory any new active-layer detachment slides; to examine the micromprphology of recent active-layer detachemtns and compare it with the structure of certain relic soils in Britain; to retrieve data on temperatures within bedrock tors installed in 1989; to continue monitoring of the development of three retrogressive thaw slumps.
Description du projet: The Researcher and his team will continue to study the activity of geomorphic processes such as bedrock weathering, active-layer detachment, solifluction and thaw slumping. The aim of the research is to link these processes to climatic variables so that predictions can be made about the possible impact of any climatic change.
