Objective(s): To evaluate the revised nursing curriculum being used at Aurora College.

Project Description: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the revised nursing curriculum being used as Aurora College as a partner within Collaboration for Academic Education in Nursing (CAEN). Students, faculty and clinical agencies will share their experiences of the curriculum. Data will be collected using Aurora College course and semester evaluation forms and faculty meetings. This data will be used to answer four questions posed by the CAEN evaluation committee. The answers to the questions will be submitted to the CAEN evaluation committee. A series of focus groups will be held with students from all partner sites about their experiences about each year of the program revision. Data will be analyzed by the CAEN evaluation committee and reports will be disseminated to all CAEN partner sites. Overall the community will benefit from Aurora College gathering evaluation data about the revisions of the nursing curriculum. Effective changes in nursing education programs can be linked to improved health outcomes of the population. As part of the regular evaluation process, feedback from practice sites utilized by nursing students is welcomed. The results will be shared with students and faculty at Aurora College and partners within CAEN. As well the method and findings will be disseminated at professional education conferences and in academic publications. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from July 12, 2011 to December 22, 2011.
