Project Description: This licence is issued for the scientific research application # 924 The purpose of this study is to evaluate the revised nursing curriculum being used at Aurora College as a partner within CAEN. Students and faculty will share their experiences of the curriculum. Interviews and focus groups will be used to start a rigorous review of the first year of the BSN program. The revisions aim to focus the curriculum more on the study of key concepts that can be applied in a variety of practice settings, as well as supporting students to develop key abilities such as critical thinking, critical inquiry, caring leadership, leadership and inter-professional collaboration. Data will primarily be collected using institution-specific course and semester evaluations as well as a series of focus groups with students and faculty discussing the changes in the curriculum. The focus groups will be around one and a half hours. The results will be shared with students and faculty at Aurora College and with the partners within the CAEN. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from October 15 to December 31, 2008 at the Yellowknife Campus, Aurora College.
