Objective(s): The project will assess the prevalence of solvent abuse in the town of Inuvik and develop an education program / package for businesses and schools. This project will involve questionnaires to community and agencies in Inuvik asking about their knowledge of solvent abuse in the community.
Project Description: Data collection includes questionnaires to businesses, schools and law enforcement and medical personnel within the Town of Inuvik. The questions will focus on community organizations and agencies knowledge of solvent abuse in the community. Once the information is gathered, an evaluation of the knowledge of solvent abuse will show what the strengths and weaknesses are and will give recommendations for future work in the community. The project will produce an information package to be distributed to local businesses and schools with the aim of preventing abuse of Solvents and Inhalants.
