Objective(s): To determine if the goal of preserving Inuvialuit culture, stipulated in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, has been accomplished. The research will investigate the levels of participation in traditional activities, such as the country food harvest, as indicators of the relative success or failure of the IFA in achieving its stated goal.

Project Description: The researcher will interview a random sample of Aklavik's Inuvialuit household heads, utilizing a questionnaire and an informal interview approach, in order to investigate the level of participiation in traditional activities. The researcher also intends to accompany a hunter or trapper ( or both) on a short trip(s) in order to gain first hand experience of such activities
