Objective(s): To investigate local imputs and environmental redistribution associated with biogeochemical cycling of persistent substances (iorganic elements and organochlorines).

Project Description: The researchers will collect soil/sediment, water, plant and other biological samples to investigate small-scale variations of introduced substances; to examine larger variations in tundra and marine ecosystems; and to aid decision-makers in identifying when and where remedial measures can be most effectively applied. This investigation will be conducted on abandoned DEW Line sites to evaluate the effect of introduced substances on the environment.
