Objective(s): To combine oral history and archaeology in order to better understand traditional land use patterns in the interior region of southern Baffin Island; to provide an opportunity for members of the communities to be involved with the study.
Project Description: In this third season of the project, the researchers will collect information on summer and autumn land use on southern Baffin Island during the late prehistoric period. Information collected will include data on travel routes that people followed to interior hunting and fishing grounds, characteristics of the campsites and information on family/party size.
