Objective(s): To further map and understand the geology of the area as part of ongoing studies being conducted by the Geological Survey of Canada.
Project Description: This ongoing study involves identifying, measuring and sampling the different types of rock found at selected sites. Most of the work will be conducted using a helicopter based out of Inuvik, with visits made to the sites on a daily basis. Temporary camps for 1-2 nights will be set up if sites require more than one day of work. The data collected will be used to develop a history of the area's geology (some rocks are 210-360 million years old).
