Objective(s): To continue to explore the relationship between the dependency created by the educational, social welfare and criminal justice systems of Euro-Canadians and crime among Inuit of the eastern arctic community of Iqaluit.

Project Description: Investigation of existing information contained in documents will continue throughout the 1993 year in the NWT and southern Canada. It is anticipated that limited amounts of field work may be conducted in both Yellowknife and Iqaluit. This work will help to establish necessary baseline information on this subject as well as provide indicators of change. This work is a continuation of research conducted by Mr. Patenaude over the last few years.
