Objective(s): To clarify the relationship between the community of Arctic Bay and the institution of formal schooling; to understand how community members can influence their local school so that the school meets the community's needs; to clarify the roles of individuals in the community and the new roles introduced by the school.

Project Description: As a result of previous years' research, I have determined that there may be differences between the institution of formal schooling and the institutions that guide Inuit life. I am now attempting to identify the types of changes required in order to achieve greater success in combining the two sets of institutional values.
