Objective(s): To map the distribution of surficial and shallow subbottom materials in the nearshore and coastal zones (0 to 10m water depth); to collect data on physical oceanographic factors which control the hydrodynamic regime in the nearshore zone and to assess their effect on sediment transport processes;
Project Description: The Researchers will use the ARKTOS 5 amphibious vehicle for geophysical surveying in the vicinity of Tuktoyaktuk and the proposed Amauligak pipeline landing site on Richards Island. They will measure nearshore sediment dynamics using wave and current meters at selected locations in the vicinity of the proposed pipeline landing site at North Head.
