Objective(s): To measure rates of coastal erosion and deposition; to map and characterize the physical properties of nearshore and onshore deposits; to collect wave and current data for modelling nearshore sediment transport and coastal sediment budget; to examine the geohazards related to sea ice, wave and storm surges, permafrost and ground ice;
Project Description: Geophysical surveys will be carried out from a 40-foot vessel and from 16-foot rubber boats to deploy current meters at two sites in water depths approximately 2 meters, to collect beach, cliff and seabed sediment samples and to survey beach and cliff morphology using theodolites and surveyors instruments.
