Objectif(s): These activities form part of a Summer Field Geotechnical Investigation Program to be conducted in the Sahtu Settlement Area during 2003. The objective of this program is to gather information that will assess the soil and ground conditions at representative frost heave study sites within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Norman Wells. The information obtained from the program will be used in assessing the feasibility of a pipeline in the Mackenzie Valley and for preparing subsequent regulatory applications if the Mackenzie Valley pipeline project proceeds. Ongoing consultation with the Norman Wells Renewable Resource Council is strongly advised.
