Objectif(s): To collect lake sediments at Cape Dyer for paleoclimate records; to conduct vegetation and lake water surveys to observe modern climate/environmental links for calibration of paleoclimate data; to reconstruct glacial and sea-level histories for inner Frobisher Bay.
Description du projet: The researchers will obtain sediments from lakes near Cape Dyer to document past climatic conditions. Vegetation and lake water chemistry data will also be collected in order to collect information about the current environment: this data can be compared to historic data. Finally, the inner Frobisher Bay area will be surveyed for data about past sea levels and glacial landforms. This research will increase our knowledge about environmental/climate change in the area.
