Objectif(s): To continue investigations of permafrost landform/ environmental relationships with the following objectives: (1) to quantify microclimate, soil and vegetation characteristics of permafrost landforms; and (2) to evaluate the long-term ecological responses to human-induced disturbances associated with the abandoned Canol Project.

Description du projet: Since 1974, the permafrost landforms in this area have been studied. Investigations have included the collection of wind and soil temperatures, wind speed and precipitation levels. This information will increase our knowledge about how permafrost affects the shaping of the land. In addition, information will be collected on how vegetation responds to human activities as a result of the Canol Project.
