Objectif(s): To continue to explore the effectiveness of aquatic science in responding to challenges imposed by environmental concerns and resource management activities in the Mackenzie Basin. The study will: (1) provide an overview of aquatic research in the Mackenzie Basin; (2) evaluate the utility and quality of this research; (3) identify future needs for aquatic research and its coordination; (4) consider means of enhancing local participation in research and in implementation of its findings; (5) make recommendations to government, university and industry.

Description du projet: The researchers will complete their data collection activities in the NWT. All available literature on Mackenzie Basin aquatic science and environmental management will be catalogued and reviewed in order to identify appropriate criteria for the evaluation of aquatic science activities in the region. The results of this study will assist in coordinating existing and future research activities as well as identifying means to enhance local involvement.
