Objectif(s): To conduct a comparative study teaching the effectiveness of Non-Native teachers who are teaching Native children; to determine the cultural impact of the educational system on Native communities; to investigate the existence of residential school systems in remote areas of the North;

Description du projet: The Researcher will investigate education in the urban culturally diverse setting of Yellowknife and compare it to the isolated predominantly Native community of Snowdrift. The relationship between teacher and student will be studied. Course curriculum and teaching methods will be examined to determine if they are relevant to native culture. Community residents will be contacted to discuss the education of children.
