Summary:
The purpose of this study is to directly measure temperature and dissolved oxygen concentrations in Airport Lake throughout the year, and to find out if low oxygen levels are limiting the growth rate of lake trout population in this lake. Repeated sampling at the same locations on the lake during fall, winter, spring, and summer will show whether oxygen levels are adequate for optimal lake trout t...

Summary:
The researcher and his team will sample molluscs (clams, snails) using a grab sampler and a small benthic dredge. Oceanographic stations will be established in the study area to obtain measurements of water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen content. Animals recovered in the grab and dredge samples will be washed on a 0.5 mm sieve and preserved for identification later in the laboratory....

Summary:
The Researchers will collect a series of sediment and water samples. These will be analyzed for plant nutrients, concentration of microscopic plant cells, bacteria, suspended solids, dissolved oxygen and organic contaminants. Microscopic animals will also be netted. They will determine the abundance and composition of the animals and conduct experiments to measure their feeding rates and fat cont...
