Objective(s): To collect marine molluscs (clams, snails) to examine their distribution; to compare the distribution of marine molluscs with mollusc communities inhabiting fiords on northern Greenland and eastern Baffin Island;
Project Description: The researcher and his team will sample molluscs (clams, snails) using a grab sampler and a small benthic dredge. Oceanographic stations will be established in the study area to obtain measurements of water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen content. Animals recovered in the grab and dredge samples will be washed on a 0.5 mm sieve and preserved for identification later in the laboratory.
