Project Description: Ms. Oakes will document bird skin clothing production in Sanikiluaq. The information will include skin selection, skin preparation, pattern development, garment construction and maintenance of eider duck parkas. The clothing and artifacts will be assembled in an exhibition which will include a booklet (English and Inuktitut) and a short video film.The show will travel to schools and museums in the NWT, Quebec, and Labrador.
