Objectif(s): to document bird skin clothing production in Sanikiluaq, Belcher Islands; to collect detailed information on skin selection, skin preparation, pattern development, garment construction and maintenance of eider duck parkas; the clothing and other artifacts will be assembled in an exhibition which will include a booklet (English and Inuktitut) and a short video film; the exhibition will travel to schools and museums in the NWT, Quebec and Labrador

Description du projet: Ms. Oakes will document bird skin clothing production in Sanikiluaq. The information will include skin selection, skin preparation, pattern development, garment construction and maintenance of eider duck parkas.
