Objective(s): Fortune Minerals is considering an expanded exploration program on the NICO property. This program will require an environmental baseline survey to augment existing information on species and habitat in the area to optimize current environmental impact mitigation and to support future permit applications. The scope of environmental studies will include wildlife and wildlife habitat, fish and fish habitat, aquatic biota (plankton and benthos), water and sediment quality (surface and ground), vegetation and archaeology. Several visits by field staff and assistants will be made during the summer of 2003. Equipment will be limited to standard field measuring and surveying equipment such as water quality meters, water and sediment collection equipment, data loggers, fish nets, minnow traps, and a boat for bathymetry and fish surveys.
