Objective(s): The test is intended to provide information related to airgun seismic sound characteristics and environmental effects within the Mackenzie River system. It will evaluate the effectiveness of the mitigation proposed for a full scale seismic program as it relates to fish and wildlife. The test has six components; 1) acoustic testing with airguns; 2) fish behaviour assessment; 3) fish physiological assessment; 4) aquatic mammal behaviour assessment; 5) mortality monitoring; and 6) mitigation.
