Objective(s): The project is intended to explore school-based interpersonal relationships throughout the NWT. Student-teacher relationships can be a major reason for the enrollment numbers of students. The relations on which data will be collected are those between teachers, administrators, students, community members and other staff in schools during school activities. The survey will identify levels of satisfaction with these relationships and methods used to promote positive relations. Info will be gathered on conflict management strategies used & various types of interpersonal conflicts.

Project Description: The survey will collect data from students, administrators, teachers, Board members, and other school-based staff. Pilot surveys will be undertaken to test the surveys and to identify necessary changes. A randomly selected group of 30 principals will be asked to collect data on incidents of interpersonal conflict in which they have to intervene. No names will be attached to surveys or descriptions of incidents. Final reports-schooling throughout NWT.
