Objective(s): To undertake an intensive gillnetting program using multi- mesh gillnet gangs; and to estimate the the relative abundance of species and their size distribution.
Project Description: The researcher will conduct an intensive gillnetting program using multi-mesh gillnet gangs to determine the size and characteristics of fish populaitons in the project area. Both floating and bottom sets will be used, perpendicular and parallel to the shoreline. It is proposed that 40 fish of each species found will be taken from each lake sampled.
