Objective(s): To define the levels of consumption of traditional foods by maximum food users in 16 Dene/Metis communities of the western NWT, including Aklavik, Arctic Red River, Deline, Fort Good Hope, Colville Lake, Fort Simpson, Fort Rae, Lutsel K'e, Fort Resolution, Fort Smith, Fort McPherson, Edzo, Wrigley, Jean-Marie River, Fort Providence, and Hay River Dene Reserve.

Project Description: The researchers will collect information about levels of food comsumption in Aklavik, Arctic Red River, Deline, Ft. Good Hope, Colville Lake, Ft. Simpson, Ft. Rae, Lutsel K'e, Ft. Resolution, Ft. Smith, Ft. McPherson, Edzo, Wrigley, Jean-Marie River, Ft. Providence, Hay River, and Ft. Smith. 3 types of surveys will be delivered by trained community members: (1) a 24-hour diet recall; (2) a socio-cultural survey; and (3) a traditional food use survey.
