Objective(s): To document traditional knowledge and the use of the Campbell Lake Park area by Gwich'in elders now residing in Inuvik, Aklavik, Arctic Red River and in the Campbell Lake Park area.
Project Description: The researcher will conduct this study under the direction of the Gwich'in Tribal Council. The Council is interested in taking a role in gathering interpretive information for the development of the Campbell Lake Park. The purpose of this project is to provide the Gwich'in perspective of life in the Campbell Lake Park area. Information on place names, trails, camp sites, resources and stories will be recorded from interviews with elders and community residents.
