Objective(s): To investigate the cultural and environmental heritage of Lake Harbour through the documentation of oral tradition; to evaluate, analyze and document other available resources; to contribute to the establishment of an interpretive centre in the community.

Project Description: While conducting research in Lake Harbour in 1992, the researcher noted an interest expressed by residents in the development of a local cultural and environmental visitors centre. The purpose of such a centre would be to complement the Katannilik Park which is located on one of Canada's heritage river systems. As an initial step, the researcher will document the cultural and environmental heritage through interviews with residents.
