Objective(s): To sample a series of lakes near Resolute in an attempt to reconstruct a contaminant history of the region.
Project Description: In this ongoing research, we plan to sample lake water and lake sediments from a number of study sites located near Resolute. At each lake we will analyze the water and mud samples for the presence of pollution (i.e., black carbon particles) as well as species of algae. This data will provide information about the past environment and indicate environmental change.
