Objectif(s): To sample a series of lakes near Resolute and Alert to reconstruct a contaminant history of the region via long range transport of airborne pollution;

Description du projet: The Researchers will sample lakewater and lake sediments from several study sites near Resolute and in the High Arctic near Alert. At each lake they will analyze the water chemistry and collect lake muds. The lake muds contain a historical record of past pollution (black carbon particles) as well as biological indicators (for example, diatom algae) of environmental change.
