Objective(s): The purpose of the site visits is to carry out the following engineering work: (1) site surveys; (2) environmental investigation of stained areas, lagoons and landfills requiring clean-up (investigation includes minor soil and water sampling); (3) geotechnical evaluation of lagoons, landfills and borrow areas including geophysical surveys; and (4) identification and characterization of structures for demolition.

Project Description: The information gathered at the DEW Line Sites will be used to prepare detailed contractual documents for the environmental clean-up and demolition work at 10 sites. Public consultation meetings will take place at communities in the vicinity of the investigated DEW Line Sites.
