Objective(s): To complete a PhD. dissertation in Sociology; to use archival materials stored in Cambridge Bay, Yellowknife or Fort Smith; to interview government employees involved with Arctic College and the Department of Advanced Education; to document the history of adult education in the Kitikmeot; to analyse how those activities are linked with processes of social change.

Project Description: The researcher will use archival materials in Cambridge Bay, Yellowknife or Fort Smith in order to document the history of adult education in the Kitikmeot. As well, he will interview government employees involved with Arctic College and the Department of Education. He will analyse how the history of adult education activities are linked to processes of social change in the Kitikmeot.
