Objective(s): To provide suicide prevention education to community-based caregivers and motivation to act through the development, production and distribution of a suicide prevention video; to conduct an evaluation of the project which includes a description of the process of community participation in the development of a culturally meaningful mental health resource, an assessment of the extent to which that resource changes the problems surrounding suicide held by Inuit youth, and an assessment of the impact of community participation on the overall success of the project;
Project Description: The researcher and her team will provide suicide prevention education to community-based caregivers and motivation to act through the development, production and distribution of a suicide prevention video. Community participation in script development will occur through workshops held in a variety of Inuit communities. An evaluation of the project will assess the impact of community participation on the overall success of the project.
