Objective(s): To produce a 1:50,000 scale geological mapping assessment of economic potential for sediment hosted base metals in the Neoproterozoic Shaler Group.
Project Description: This is the first year of a 3-4 year program designed to up- date the present geological database for the Precambrian geology of northwestern Victoria Island. The study will involve 6-8 weeks of fieldwork. Researchers will collaborate both logistically and scientifically with Noranda Exploration Inc. who plan to be working in the same area.
