Objective(s): To collect information from subsistence walrus hunts, through kits distributed to walrus hunters.
Project Description: The research is a cooperative management data collection program organized by the HTAs and DFO. Under contract the HTAs in Igloolik and Hall Beach will organize, distribute and collect sample kits used by local hunters. These sample kits will provide information on the size and age of killed walrus, along with their genetic code and reproductive status.
