Objective(s): To investigate the biogeography and ecology of some groups of unicellulars (i.e. diatoms and testate amoebae); to collect small samples of terrestrial (mosses, soil, lichens) and aquatic (sapropelium, waterplants) material; to obtain physico-chemical measurements (pH, conductivity) on these habitats;
Project Description: In the vicinity of Cambridge Bay the researcher hopes to gain more insight in the biogeography and ecology of unicellulars, i.e. diatoms and testate amoebae. A small collection of samples of terrestrial and aquatic material will be undertaken.
