Objective(s): To continue to analyse the dominant factors influencing the shape of buildings in the arctic: sun, high wind velocities, low temperatures, rain, drifting snow, etc.; to study the structure and review the basic aspects of technical design as applicable to various types of construction; to study permafrost and its effect in northern architecture; to investigate concepts, ideas and solutions to improve the quality of contemporary architecture in the Northwest Territories;

Project Description: The Researcher will continue to investigate the relationship between the architectural and technical aspects of buildings and severe northern climate.
