Objective(s): To quantify small rodent densities on 4 tundra habitats; to quantify breeding success of lemming predators; to document food habits of lemming predators, and their hunting behaviour; to estimate the carrying capacity of the lemming habitats in terms of the lemmings' principal food and it's accessability.

Project Description: The Researchers will continue to investigate the hypothesis that collared lemmings are regulated at low densities by predation and that the irruptive high densities found in some Canadian tundra regions, some years, are local escapes from predator regulation.
