Objective(s): To describe how people involved in adult literacy work are dealing with the challenges and questions which they face. This information will be made available to others in the field of adult literacy. The development of both first language literacy and English literacy programs will be reviewed. It is important to understand the relationships between these two different programs and how they have each affected aspects of community education and community development.
Project Description: The purpose of this research is to describe how people in Arviat have developed an Inuktituk literacy program for adults. The research will be published so that others working in the adult literacy field will be able to learn from experiences of the people in Arviat.
