Objective(s): To study the sediments in the high cutbanks along the Lianrd and Nahanni Rivers; to interpret the former depositional sequences of river diposits of 6,000 years ago; to find buried wood in the cutbanks to determine the age of the river; to study the mud in cutbanks; to reconstruct the paleogeography of the former Liard and South Nahanni floodplain and channel deposits;
Project Description: The Researcher and team will study the sediments ( mud and sand) in river cutbanks to reconstruct the paleogeography (river history) of the Nahanni Butte topographic basin.
