Objective(s): To estimate the atmospheric input of toxic industrial organic compounds to an area remote from any sources.
Project Description: The Researcher and his assistant will collect sediment cores from two lakes (Annak and Imitavik) in the Sanikiluaq area. Cores will be sliced into horizontal sections and will be analyzed for radioisotopes used to identify ages of the sediment layers. The sections will also be analyzed for organic compounds.
