Objective(s): To continue a study begun in 1984 which includes the following: measurement of phytoplankton production, bottom photography to quantify benthic macroinvertebrates, diving to groundtruth same, trapnetting of Arctic cod and observation of cod schools if they occur, ecology of benthic fishes other than Arctic cod, routine oceanographic observations, preliminary studies of the benthic clam community as it is affected by walrus grazing;

Project Description: Dr. Welch and his project personnel will continue work on a study which began in 1984. The objective of the study continues to be the quantification of food web leading to marine mammal and bird production in the Canadian Marine Arctic.
