Objective(s): To obtain sediment cores from several high elevation cirque lakes;

Project Description: The bathymetry of 3 lakes will be determined with a portable echo sounding device. The deepest part of each lake will be cored. Ice thickness and water quality will be monitored. Samples of modern sediments will be taken for comparisons with fossil material preserved in the cores.
