Objective(s): To quantify annual fluxes of atmospherically transported contaminants to the Arctic aquatic environment; to determine the fate of these contaminants in selected aquatic systems

Project Description: Snow samples will be collected from very remote sites throughout the mainland of NWT during visits to stations maintained by Water Resources Branch. Samples will also be collected at several high Arctic weather stations. Intensive sampling will also be conducted on Agassiz Ice Cap near Resolute. Samples will be analyzed for pesticides, PCBs and other compounds.
